Sprink Earns Second Big Ten Weekly Honor

ROSEMONT, Ill. – Junior Sarah Sprink of the second-ranked Maryland field hockey team (13-2, 5-1 B1G) was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week Tuesday for the second time this season.

At Princeton Wednesday, Sprink and the Terrapins' defense held the Tigers to just five shots on goal in the 8-1 victory. She scored twice in the Terps' 4-0 win over Rutgers Sunday that helped them win their eighth straight game. Sprink scored the Terps' first and fourth goals, while helping them pick up their sixth shutout of the year.

This is the eighth weekly honor for the Terrapins this season.

Next, the Terps will hit the road to play at No. 19 Indiana (9-5, 1-5) Friday at 3 p.m.
