KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. - The Maryland women's golf team concluded its fall season with a 15th place finish Tuesday at the Palmetto Intercollegiate. The Terps shot a three-round score of 929 (309-310-310).
Juliet Vongphoumy paced the squad with a score of 221 (74-73-74) and finished tied for 12th place overall.
“Juliet had another good finish at top 12,” head coach Diana Cantu said. “She had a great fall and I'm proud of her.”
Alexandra Papell finished tied for 39th with a score of 229 (83-72-74). Papell led the Terps with six birdies in the third round and 11 in the tournament.
Freshman Kavita Sehmi followed with a 232 (74-76-82), which tied her for 54th.
Heidi Baek and Panitta Yusabai rounded out the group with scores of 255 (78-89-88) and 258 (89-89-80), respectively.
The Terrapins kick off their spring season on March 13 at the 3M Lady Jaguar in Augusta, Ga.
“We have a lot of work to do to get ready for the spring season,” Cantu said.
