• Maryland has won four straight games over the last two weeks. Most recently, the Terps beat No. 18 Old Dominion, 3-1, Sunday. Anna Dessoye, Moira Putsch and Maxine Fluharty scored for Maryland. • Katie Gerzabek, Putsch and Cabrera swept the Big Ten weekly awards. Gerzabek was named Offensive Player of the Week, Cabrera was named Defensive Player of the Week and Putsch was named Freshman of the Week for the second straight week. Maryland is the first school to win all three in the same week since Ohio State did on Oct. 4, 2010.
• Eleven Terps have combined to score 34 goals this year. Maxine Fluharty and Moira Putsch lead the way with seven goals apiece, while Sarah Sprink and Anna Dessoye each have five. Katie Gerzabek leads with 11 assists.

• Penn State is 10-2 overall, 2-1 in Big Ten play this year and is ranked No. 4 in the latest Penn Monto/NFHCA Coaches poll. The Nittany Lions have won five straight games over the last few weeks. Most recently, they beat No. 14 Temple 2-0 Sunday.
• Taylor Herold is leading Penn State with 12 goals and six assists for 30 points so far this season.
• Penn State owns the all-time series over Maryland, 20-11-1, but the Terps have won the last two straight games and seven of the last eight matchups since 1994. Maryland won the most recent meeting, 8-1, on Sept. 12, 2009 in College Park.
• Maryland is 3-1 vs. Penn State at the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex. The Nittany Lions' lone win was a 1-0 victory in the NCAA Second Round in 2007.

• The Terps have been ranked in the top five for the last 17 straight weeks, dating back to the preseason poll in 2013.

2014 Team Captains
• Three players have been named team captains for the 2014 season. Maxine Fluharty, Katie Gerzabek and Sarah Sprink will serve as the team's captains.
"Maxine, Katie and Sarah are a talented dynamic, hardworking leadership trio," head coach Missy Meharg said. "The front field, the midfield, the backfield are represented by these NCAA/FIH experienced players. All have been honored by their leagues and all three represented their countries in the Junior World Cup. They understand that the way we train and prepare puts us in position to win championships in November."

• The Terrapins joined the Big Ten conference this year, after playing in the ACC for 31 years. Big Ten field hockey is now the biggest conference in the history of the sport in the NCAA with nine teams - Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, Northwestern, Ohio State, Penn State, Rutgers and Maryland.
• The Terps are 85-32-3 (.721) all-time against Big Ten opponents.
• Head coach Missy Meharg is 68-12-1 (.846) vs. Big Ten opponents in her 27 years at the helm of the Maryland field hockey program.

Since its opening in 2003, the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex has provided the Maryland hockey program a huge home field advantage.
• The Terps are 132-15 (.898) all-time at the Complex.
• Maryland won 38 straight games at the Complex from Oct.11, 2008 through Oct. 14, 2011. The streak ended with a 5-2 loss to then-No. 1 Old Dominion.
• The Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex has played home to 22 of Maryland's NCAA Tournament games, including two Final Fours (2007, 2010). The Terrapins are 21-1 in those games and won the 2010 national title on their home field.

• The Maryland field hockey team has increasingly attracted more and more fans to the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex season after season. The Terrapins have led the nation in attendance since 2010.
• In 2013, Maryland led the country in attendance with 8,176 fans coming out to see the Terrapins. On average, 629 fans came to each game, which was nearly 200 more than North Carolina's average of 438 which was second in the country.
• An NCAA-record crowd of 2,381 came out to watch as Maryland beat North Carolina 3-2 in double overtime for the 2010 national championship at the Complex.

Three Terps Selected To Big Ten Players To Watch List

• Dessoye is Maryland's leading returning scorer, after she notched 13 goals and 16 assists in 2013. Fluharty added 12 goals and seven assists last year, while Gerzabek scored five goals and notched three assists in her 19 games played.
