Craddock Named Lou Groza Top Star of the Week

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Junior kicker Brad Craddock has been selected as the Lou Groza Collegiate Place-Kicker Top Star of the Week the Palm Beach Sports Commission announced Monday morning.

Craddock is one of eight kickers in the nation to remain perfect on the season. Craddock connected on his eighth, ninth and 10th field goals of the season, a 48 yarder for Maryland's opening score, a 30 yarder for the Terps' final points of the first half, and a 48 yarder to close the scoring in Maryland's 37-15 win over Indiana Saturday.

Craddock is a perfect 10-for-10 this season, including 6-of-6 from between 40-49 yards, and has converted 16 consecutive field goal attempts dating back to last season, which is tied with Florida State's Roberto Aguayo for the longest active streak in FBS.

The Australia native has totaled 52 points on the year, which is tied for the most among kickers nationally, and his 41 career field goals places him fifth all-time in program history.

Maryland returns to action Saturday when it plays host to 20th-ranked Ohio State in the program's first-ever Big Ten home game. Kickoff is set for noon.

College football's top kicking award, the Lou Groza Collegiate Place-Kicker Award presented by the Palm Beach County Sports Commission, recognizes three of the top kickers each week from FBS division teams as the “Stars of the Week.”
