COLLEGE PARK, Md.—The Maryland women's golf team returns to action after its best finish of the season, when it travels to Kiawah Island Golf Resort in South Carolina to compete in the 2015 Palmetto Intercollegiate on Sunday.
The tournament will kick off on Sunday, with the second and third rounds teeing off on Monday and Tuesday respectively. The Kiawah Golf Resort is a par-72, 5,972 yard course.
There are 20 teams participating this weekend, including four of Golfweek's Top 40 ranked schools in Louisville (20th), Furman (35th), Augusta (39th) and Campbell (40th). The College of Charleston will also be hosting Boise State, Boston University, Charleston Southern, Chattanooga, Coastal Carolina, East Tennessee State, Illinois, Kansas, Kennesaw State, Maryland, South Florida, Stetson, Tulsa, Virginia Tech and Xavier.
The team will look to continue where it left off a few weeks ago when it carded the lowest third round of any team at the Pinehurst Challenge. Freshman Ludovica Farina impressed once again as she matched her team-best 69 in the third round, finishing the tournament with a with a 218 (77-72-69).
This weekend's lineup includes Panitta Yusabai, Farina, Heidi Baek, Ludovica Scandroglio and Brooke Kochevar.
