Terps Win Big Apple Tournament

SPRING CITY, Pa. - The Maryland field hockey team won its fifth straight Big Apple Indoor title this weekend in Spring City, Pa.

The Terrapins had two teams competing in the tournament, and both won their pools to advance to the championship game. One team beat Albany 3-1 in the semifinal to advance to the championship, while the other team beat USA Junior 6-4 to make it to the finals.

They competed against teams from Albany, Drexel, Rutgers, Lafayette and the USA Juniors.

The championship game was a hard-fought, competitive battle between the two teams, who have practiced for three weeks competing against each other.

The Red team captained by Sarah Sprink and Kasey Tapman came on strong in the championship match.

Sprink won Tournament MVP.
