The Head Coach will organize and direct all aspects of the NCAA Division I Softball program for the University of Maryland. Specific responsibilities include: identifying and recruiting athletically and academically qualified student-athletes; scheduling and conducting regular practice sessions; developing, implementing, and enforcing team rules; overseeing the administrative process for team travel, budget, student-athlete eligibility and academic progress; participating in fund raising and public relations activities; and promoting the philosophy and objectives of the intercollegiate Athletics program that student-athletes should be successful athletically and academically. Knowledge of and commitment to compliance with NCAA, Conference and University rules and regulations as well as dedication to full academic development of student-athletes are essential.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required. Must have at least 3-5 years of demonstrated successful collegiate softball coaching experience. Coaching experience at a major NCAA Division I program, proven track record in recruiting, effective communicator and motivator, and collegiate playing experience preferred.
