The Assistant Director of Development will manage a portfolio of major and leadership annual giving prospects and donors. He/she will identify, engage, cultivate, solicit, and steward 175 University of Maryland alumni, parents and/or friends with an inclination to support Maryland Athletics as well as seeking out new prospective donors to maximize the philanthropic investment in the student-athletes while attempting to create lifelong donors. The Assistant Director of Development will be assigned as the fundraising liaison to one or more of our Olympic Sports teams. He/she will collaborate with colleagues on any other assignment that helps ensure successful fundraising efforts on behalf of Maryland student-athletes.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and one-three years of successful professional development and/or fundraising related experience required. Evidence of effective written and verbal communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills. Master's degree preferred. One to three years of successful professional development and/or fundraising related experience, preferably in higher education, a collegiate athletic environment, or athletic fundraising. Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations preferred.
