COLLEGE PARK, Md. - From Oct. 5-9, Maryland field hockey alum Colleen Gulick represented the USA at the 2016 Pan American track cycling championship in Aguascalientes, Mexico. Her two national championships this summer, and five medals overall, earned her this selection.
With 20 countries represented, Gulick raced three events (10k Scratch, 25k Points and 10k Madison). The silver medal in the madison race made history. Together with teammate Christina Birch, they became the first U.S. women to ever medal in a Madison race.
Gulick raced throughout her years at Maryland, 2009-12. She helped the Terrapins to the 2010 and 2011 NCAA Championships, four Final Fours and two ACC titles. Gulick was named to the NFHA All-Mid Atlantic Region Team, Academic All-ACC team twice and the NFHCA National Academic Squad. Gulick was also named one of Glamour Magazine's Top 10 College Women in the spring of 2012. She earned her bachelor's degree in bioengineering.
