COLLEGE PARK, Md.—The Maryland women's golf team is set to travel to the Forest Hills Golf Club in August, Ga. this weekend to take part in the 3M Augusta Invitational.
The tournament will kick off on Friday morning, with the second and third rounds taking place on Saturday and Sunday respectively. The Forest Hills Golf Club is a par-72, 6,214 yard course.
Maryland will be one of sixteen teams competing this weekend. The list includes a pair of Golfweek's top 25 ranked teams in Texas A&M (#20) and Florida St (#23). Augusta University, Coastal Carolina, East Carolina, Eastern Michigan, East Tennessee, Furman, Georgia Southern, Illinois, Kennesaw St., Memphis, Mercer, Troy and Virginia Tech will also be taking part this weekend.
The Terps will look to build off its solid play in the Lady Puerto Rico Classic a couple of weeks ago where Maryland finished 11th. Junior Alexandra Papell had the team's best finish Lady Puerto Rico Classic, finishing in 27th place. Freshman Ludovica Farina and Ludovica Scandroglio both had solid weekends as well, each had a tournament-low round of 74.
