Terps Finish Up Day One of the B1G Championship

INDIANAPOLIS—The Maryland women's golf team finished up the first round of the 2016 Big Ten Championship today. The team ended the day in 14th place with an overall score of a 304.

The Terps were lead by junior Alexandra Papell, who shot an opening round 71 (-1). Papell has been the most consistent and productive player this spring season for the team. Papell finished the first round tied for 17th.

Maryland also got good contributions from their freshman Ludovica Scandroglio during the opening round of the Big Ten Championship. Scandroglio shot a 73 (+1) and ended day one tied for 29th.

Senior Brooke Kochevar placed third on the team, and finished the first round of the championship in 77th place. She had an opening round score of 79 (+7).

Freshman Ludovica Farina and Senior Jessica Gregory ended the day in 81st and 83rd place, respectively.

The second round of the Big Ten Championship will begin tomorrow at 8:00 a.m.
