The Assistant Director – TerpVision and Video Operations manages the production of all TerpVision video board shows for games and events held at XFINITY Center and Capital One Field at Maryland Stadium. The position will work as a member of the Intercollegiate Athletics Broadcasting and Production staff. Responsibilities include but are not limited to; Manage the TerpVision live event productions; Oversee content preparation; day to day freelance staff recruiting, staffing and scheduling, supervision, and on-site day of operations of TerpVision video board shows (Football, women's basketball, gymnastics, wrestling, volleyball, Men's Lacrosse, Commencement Ceremonies and Special Events). Direct shows as needed;
Editor of TerpVision video board show content (pump-up videos, player head shots, promotional videos, crowd prompts, pump videos, sponsorship videos, animations, special recognition and other in-game content). Manage live internet streaming of post-game press conferences. Upload game highlights to UMTERPS and other Social Media Channels; Assist TV partners on game days and troubleshoot TV-related technical issues. Control Room and video board tech support – Test video boards, oversee control room video equipment maintenance, and troubleshoot video board technical issues and other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree required in RTVF, Video Production, graphics, or a related field. Minimum three (3) years experience with arena video board production. Experience with professional, live event broadcast equipment including: Daktronics displays and other video board displays, switchers, routers, replay systems, camera systems, audio systems, and other video equipment. Demonstrated proficiency with non-linear editing (Premiere, Final Cut:, Proficiency with all Mac systems, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Ability to comply with the laws, policies, rules, and regulations governing the University and its employees and the rules of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (the “NCAA”) and the Big Ten Conference. Must be able to work flexible hours, including frequent evenings and weekends.
