Former Terps Head to Indoor Pan American Cup

COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- Former Maryland field hockey student-athletes Katie Gerzabek and Ali (McEvoy) Campbell, will represent the USA as part of the Indoor U.S. Women's National Team at the Indoor Pan American Cup in Georgetown, Guyana beginning Monday.

Campbell, Gerzabek and the Indoor USWNT will open the Pen American Cup Monday vs. Trinidad and Tobago at 12:30 p.m. ET. They play Uruguay at 6 p.m. ET Tuesday, then Argentina Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. On Thursday, the USA will take on Barbados at 12:30 p.m. ET, then Guyana at 7 p.m. They play Canada Friday at 2:30 p.m.

"To be able to play for the USA again is an honor," Campbell said. "This time with the team feels different. We are connecting well and learning each time we are together and I think that is really powerful and will allow us to be strong at the PAIC."

"I am so excited and honored to be able to represent Team USA at the upcoming Pan American Indoor Championships," Gerzabek said. "Our indoor squad has been working hard for the past two years to prepare for this Indoor World Cup qualifying tournament through training weekends and other abroad tournaments. We can't wait to put our hard work into action against some of the best teams in the world in hopes to qualify for the World Cup in February. Personally, I am looking forward to playing in a competitive environment again and wearing the red, white and blue.”
