Terps Take Ninth at B1G Championship

MAINEVILLE, Ohio - The Maryland women's golf team posted its lowest score of the tournament on Sunday en route to a ninth place finish at the 2017 Big Ten Championship at TPC River's Bend.

Freshman Xiaolin Tian (74-81-75), senior Panitta Yusabai (81-75-74) and sophomore Ludovica Scandroglio (83-74-73) finished tied for 35th to lead the Terps. Scandroglio's 73 round total on Sunday was the team's individual low for the championship.

Senior Alexandra Papell (82-76-74) and senior Lauren Salazar (81-79-81) finished 42nd and tied for 61st, respectively.

Ludovica Farina tied for 67th (77-86-80).

“I'm happy with how today went and we closed the season with a great third round,” head coach Diana Cantu said. “Overall this was a good season for our program. We jumped a lot in the national rankings and showed a lot of progress. I am proud of our seniors who represented us well and are leaving Maryland better than they found it. We wish them nothing but the best.

“We look forward to welcoming our three freshmen next season and pick up where we left off and keep moving forward.”
