Assistant Director - Video Production

The Assistant Director, Video Production will work as a member of the Intercollegiate Athletics Broadcasting and Production staff, and report to the Assistant Athletics Director, Broadcasting and Production.

Responsibilities include: Supervise all aspects of production for the Broadcasting and Production Office. Oversee Production Assistants to assist with departmental needs; Produce, coordinate and edit, when needed, the in-house production of external and internal video content. Including: TV spots and ticket sale commercials, web and Social videos for Twitter and Facebook, year in review highlight videos, and the annual Terp Awards videos; Producer, videographer and editor for website, social media and TerpsTV content. Responsible for videotaping events and athletic contests for inclusion in video content that appears on UMTERPS.com; Interact with outside vendors and manage TerpsTV video content, to include producing original content and managing project schedules. Participate in conceptualizing and collaborating with departmental units on compelling video stories to be produced; Videographer for original content for Terpvision live event productions. These include: Intro videos, game time videos, warm-up videos; Work with coaches to produce, film and edit original recruiting videos and highlight videos for departmental sports. Videotape, conceptualize and edit compelling video productions for individual departmental sports.

Bachelor's degree required in RTVF, Video Production, or Broadcast Journalism. A minimum of three years experience in the video office of an intercollegiate athletic program or professional sports organization required, with specific emphasis on video production for social media platforms. Demonstrated ability in videography and lighting. Demonstrated ability in editing, specifically with the Adobe Creative Suite. Proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Must be able to work flexible hours, including frequent evenings and weekends, and frequent travel with teams may be required.
