Week 7 of NFL play brought former Terps good fortune as the Panthers, Patriots, Redskins and Vikings all walked away victorious.
The Carolina Panthers took down the Philadelphia Eagles, 21-17, to improve to 4-2 on the year. Torrey Smith had four receptions for a season-high 61 yards. DJ Moore also contributed to the Panthers come-from-behind victory, adding 29 receiving yards. Jermaine Carter Jr. tallied one tackle on the day.
Stefon Diggs and the Minnesota Vikings remain atop their division, leading the NFC North with a record of 4-2-1. Diggs had eight receptions for 33 yards. It marked the fourth time this season that Diggs had at least eight receptions in game. He ranks second on the team with 468 receiving yards.
JC Jackson came up big for the Patriots in a 38-31 road win over the Bears. Jackson recorded his second interception of the season in the third quarter to help the Patriots improve to 5-2. Jackson and former Terp teammate, Josh Woods, who is on the Bears practice squad met up after the game.
Vernon Davis and the Washington Redskins hosted the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday and prevailed, 20-17. The Redskins lead the NFC East with a 4-2 record. Davis ranks fourth among all Redskins receivers this season with 149 yards.
In Jacksonville, Yannick Ngakoue and the Jaguars fell to the Houston Texans, 20-7. The Jags look to bounce back next week when they take on the Eagles in Wembley Stadium in England.
Sean Davis, Darrius Heyward-Bey and the Pittsburgh Steelers had a bye week and next face the Browns. Quinton Jefferson and the Seattle Seahawks also had a bye week and face the Detroit Lions in week 8.
