Top-seeded Terps to Host B1G Matchups

COLLEGE PARK, Md.  –  The top-seeded Maryland field hockey team (16-2) will host two matchups in the Big Ten Tournament this weekend at the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex.
 
Maryland will host 8th-seeded Indiana (4-12) and 9th-seeded Michigan State (4-14) in the First Round at 3 p.m. at the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex. Admission is free. Fans planning to attend Friday's Hoosiers-Spartans matchup can park in the metered lot XVL across the street from the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex. Click here for a campus parking map.

The Terps beat Indiana, 4-0, in Bloomington on Oct. 12. They won at Michigan State, 5-1, on Sept. 15.
 
Maryland is 8-3 in its four Big Ten Tournaments and has advanced to the Big Ten Tournament final three times. Since joining the league in 2014, the Terps are 29-4 against their conference opponents.

Bibi Donraadt was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week Monday for the second time this year. Donraadt scored both the game-tying and game-winning goals in the Terps' 2-1 win over No. 17 Northwestern that also clinched a share of the Big Ten title.
 
After the Wildcats scored in the first 93 seconds, Donraadt and the Terrapins' attack kept pushing. In the 19th minute, she finished off a pass from Linnea Gonzales from the far post to tie the game. They stayed tied into the second half.
 
Gonzales is leading Maryland with 13 goals this season and she has 98 career points. Maryland has 10 scorers with multiple goals and 13 total Terps have found the goal line.
 
Head coach Missy Meharg is in her 31st season as head coach of the Terrapins. She's led them to a record of 559-137-9 (.799), seven NCAA titles, 24 conference titles and 17 Final Fours. She has been named NFHCA National Coach of the Year an unprecedented nine times in her career.
