COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The University of Maryland men's basketball team will open its 100th season as a program on Tuesday, November 6 when the Terps host Delaware at the XFINITY Center. The game will tip at 7:30 pm, and will be streamed on BTN Plus.

STORYLINES

• Maryland is 3-1 all-time against the Blue Hens, with their lone loss coming during the first-ever season of Maryland basketball in 1910-11. Delaware won that game 23-14 on Feb. 4, 1911, while the Terps have won the last three meetings, including a 76-46 win in their most recent matchup on December 28, 2007.

• Freshman Jalen Smith scored a game-high 22 points, while four other Terrapins finished in double figures as Maryland cruised to a 100-67 exhibition victory over Lynn on October 30. Bruno Fernando finished with a double-double in the 33-point victory, scoring 13 points while grabbing 11 rebounds.  Anthony Cowan Jr. and Aaron Wiggins also finished with 13 points, while Cowan Jr. racked up a game-high six assists.

• Maryland is 7-0 in their XFINITY Center opener under Mark Turgeon, and 5-2 overall in season openers during Turgeon's tenure.

• Maryland is 38-4 in non-conference home games at the XFINITY Center in the past five seasons. The Terps were a perfect 9-0 in non-conference games at XFINITY in 2017-18. UMD went 15-3 overall in home games last season.

• The Terrapins return three starters from a season ago in junior Anthony Cowan Jr., sophomore Bruno Fernando and sophomore Darryl Morsell. Cowan was named a Third Team All-Big Ten selection while also being named to the All-B1G Defensive Team. Fernando garnered All-Freshmen Team honors, while Morsell averaged 8.7 points and 4.4 rebounds during his freshmen season.

• Maryland was on the cusp of a top-25 preseason ranking in the Associated Press Poll, finishing with 28 votes. Maryland also received 26 votes in the USA Today Coaches Poll. Four of Maryland's 2018-19 opponents (Virginia, Michigan State, Michigan and Purdue) were tabbed as preseason top-25 teams in the poll released on October 22.
