The Assistant Athletic Trainer will assist with the day-to-day sports medicine/athletic training operations for the football team include prevention, evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of student-athletes; pre-participation physicals; inventory management of supplies and equipment; maintaining medical records; completing required insurance claims; daily interaction and communication with the coaching staff, Contingent I (C1) athletic trainers, and administration, attending team practices and events; supervising assistant athletic trainers and student workers; assisting with administrative duties; and performing other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Athletic Training, or related field/concentration of emphasis in athletic training required. Minimum of three (3) years of athletic training experience at the NCAA Division I level. Strong organization, administrative and communication skills.
Master's degree in a related field preferred. Previous athletic training experience at the NCAA Division I level with football preferred. Previous experience with health insurance and billing preferred.
Possess a valid driver's license and good driving record.
Must have current Board of Certification (BOC) Certified Athletic Trainer and CPR/AED Certification from an accredited organization; currently possess and/or eligible for State of Maryland Athletic Training License.
Must obtain State of Maryland Athletic Training License within three (3) months of hire.
