The Deputy Athletics Director will serve as the second administrator in command with the responsibility of overseeing all daily operations of the Department under the philosophy and directives of the Director of Athletics (AD) and will act on behalf of and/or represent the AD as requested in his absence. Serving as the CFO the Deputy AD is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the Department and will provide the AD with frequent assessments regarding new and ongoing financial issues and lead and direct the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics' $92 million budget by executing judicious fiscal management to include overseeing all Athletics unit budgets, finance records and financial reporting and evaluate all revenue sources to support the athletic program's comprehensive budgeting process; provide direct supervision of senior staff, ie, Senior Associate AD-Internal Operations, Senior Associate AD-External Operations, Senior Associate AD-Strategic Communications & Media Relations, Senior Associate AD-Academics & Student Development, Senior Associate AD for Administration as well as direct supervision over at least one major sport; Assist with special projects as requested by the AD and serve on selected campus, conference and NCAA committees at the direction of the AD; ensure strict compliance with regulations governing all NCAA and Conference intercollegiate athletics and all applicable University and State rules, policies and laws; and successfully execute other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
Master's degree required. Must have a minimum of 6-8 years of experience as a senior level administrator in intercollegiate athletics. Must possess an in-depth understanding of the dynamics and complexity of NCAA Division I intercollegiate athletics with regard to internal and external operations. Excellent written, interpersonal and oral communication skills. Knowledge of and commitment to the rules and regulations governing the NCAA, Conference and University.
