COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- Head coach
Missy Meharg welcomed Terrapin field hockey alumna
Kasey Tapman back to College Park as the team's volunteer assistant coach, the Terps announced this week.
Tapman was a part of five Maryland field hockey teams, including a redshirt season. She played in 77 career games. She helped the Terps to the 2011 NCAA title and three total NCAA Final Fours. In her time in College Park, Maryland won four conference titles.
"I am so excited to be back at Maryland and on the staff," Tapman. "My time as a Terp were some of the best years of my life. Once a Terp, always a Terp!"
"Kasey exemplifies the purest definition of Maryland field hockey," Meharg said. "Being entitled to nothing and grateful for everything took her from Pocomoke, Md. as a three-sport athlete, to being an NCAA Champion and a member of the USA developmental squad. Her hard work and relentless passion is an inspiration."
Tapman, a native of Pocomoke, Md., was on the USA Developmental Team the last two years. She competed in the USA's tour of Chile with the USA Developmental Team this past May.
She also served as the head coach of Freedom Hockey's Under-14 team and was an assistant coach for the Under-19 Team, in addition to helping with administration and media.
Tapman graduated with her degree in kinesiology in the winter of 2015.
