ROSEMONT, Ill. – Maryland Olympic sports will be featured on national television platforms at least 11 times this fall as Big Ten Network announced coverage plans for BTN and FS1 this week. Maryland also announced its home streaming schedule, with at least 29 home events streamed via BTN Plus.
Maryland's first nationally televised contest of the fall will make history as the Terps men's soccer team takes on defending national champions Stanford live on FS1 (Aug. 31, 6 p.m.). The match will be the first Big Ten Olympic sport broadcast on FS1.
Men's soccer is featured five more times on BTN throughout the fall, including a marquee non-conference match-up with UCLA (Sept. 7, 7 p.m.) and Big Ten contests vs. Wisconsin (Sept. 21, 7 p.m.), vs. Michigan State (Oct. 5, 7 p.m.), vs. Penn State (Oct. 23, 6 p.m.) and at Michigan (Oct. 28, 4 p.m.). Maryland's six national broadcasts lead all men's soccer programs.
Field hockey, the reigning national runners up, will play twice on BTN; at Penn State (Oct. 7, Noon) and at Iowa (Oct. 14, 1 p.m.). Volleyball is also featured a pair of times on BTN; vs. Michigan State (Oct. 12, 7 p.m.) and at Purdue (Oct. 19, 7 p.m.).
The Maryland women's soccer team is set to play on BTN at home against Illinois (Oct. 4, 6 p.m.). All fall sports tournament championships will be broadcast live on BTN.
Additional games could be selected for broadcast by another Big Ten television partner, ESPN, with that announcement to come at a later date. BTN and FS1 broadcasts are also streamed through the BTN2Go digital platform and the FOX Sports mobile app.
Maryland's home contests streamed through BTN Plus features the following number of events for each sport; volleyball (12), field hockey (8), women's soccer (8), men's soccer (5). That schedule is subject to change.
