The Senior Associate Athletic Director for Internal Operations serves as a member of the department's senior leadership team that is committed to excellence and advancing the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics through its strategic plan and vision. This senior level administrator is responsible for assisting the University's Department of Intercollegiate Athletics with establishing policies and procedures that achieve the development of quality, competitive athletic teams and support the individual educational goals of student-athletes; providing daily administrative oversight of the areas of Human Resources and Staff Relations, Facilities, Operations and Events, Information Technology and the Athletic Equipment unit and its operations. In addition, this position will supervise assigned athletic sport programs with the mission and values of the department and university to include academic monitoring of student-athletes, collaborating with coaches to plan, monitor and reconcile program budgets, review and monitor monthly budget reports throughout the year; review and monitor time management plans, develop action plans, set strategic goals, performance management and professional development; collaborate with sport coaches to develop future schedules; approve team travel and conduct annual performance evaluations of programs and coaches; and continually educate coaches on NCAA and conference rules and regulations; know, recognize, and comply with the laws, policies, rules, and regulations governing the University and its employees and the rules of the NCAA and Big Ten Conference and perform other duties as assigned.
 
Master's degree required. Must have a minimum of 5 years experience as a senior level administrator in intercollegiate athletics or within a sports industry. Must possess an in-depth understanding of the dynamics and complexity of NCAA Division I intercollegiate athletics with regard to internal operations as well as external operations. Excellent written, interpersonal and oral communication skills. Knowledge of and commitment to the rules and regulations governing the NCAA, Conference and University.
 
Master's degree in Sport Management, Education, Administration or related field preferred. Minimum of 5 years experience as a senior level administrator in intercollegiate athletics, preferably at the NCAA Division I FBS level.
