The University of Maryland is seeking qualified applicants for the full-time intern position of Video Production Assistant. The position will work as a member of the Intercollegiate Athletics Broadcasting and Production staff and be under the direct supervision of the Assistant Athletics Director–Broadcasting and Production.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist the Assistant Director-Production with the day-to-day production needs in the office.
- Filming, editing, and conceptualizing content for distribution to coaches & social media platforms, as well as internally
- Generate daily content for social media and/or the website by creating short social features, team pump ups and graphic-heavy videos
- Assist with creative planning and execution
- Assist with in-venue content creation, taping and editing.
- Assist with the Maryland Athletics website, Grabyo account and Youtube page, including all video uploads, publishing notes and distribution communication
- Staff home events and travel with team when deemed appropriate by the Assistant Director-Production
- Assist in server organization and archiving
- Assist with equipment organization and maintenance
Bachelor's degree required in RTVF, Video Production, or Broadcast Journalism. Experience in live event production, specifically sporting events. Knowledge and demonstrated ability in nonlinear editing. Experience in ENG shooting. Demonstrated general technical knowledge of broadcast/ENG equipment. Intermediate knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop). Proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Must be able to work flexible hours, including frequent evenings and weekends. Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift 25 pounds.
