COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Junior punter
Wade Lees has been named the Ray Guy Award Punter of the Week after an outstanding performance in Maryland's win over Minnesota last Saturday.
Lees averaged a career-best 48.6 yards per punt over five punts in the game, including a pair of 50-yarders.
The Australian has been extremely impressive throughout his career in College Park, dropping 43 of his 160 punts inside the 20 and only totaling five touchbacks. He has served as the starting punter every game of his career since 2016.
Lees and the Terps are enjoying the bye week as they begin preparations for Michigan next Saturday in Ann Arbor. Maryland will face the Wolverines at noon on ABC.
