Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance

Position Summary
The Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance works under the general supervision of the Associate AD for Compliance and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the University of Maryland, Department of Intercollegiate Athletics' Compliance Office. The Assistant AD for Compliance ensures compliance with all NCAA, conference, and university rules and regulations for an effective NCAA Division I-FBS, Big Ten Conference institution which sponsors 20 varsity sport programs. The Assistant AD for Compliance will be involved in the coordination, development and implementation of all processes, standard operating procedures, policies and documentation, education, monitoring, and reporting pertaining to all governing entities and perform other duties as assigned. 
 
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree required along with a minimum of four years of NCAA Division I compliance related experience. Must demonstrate outstanding administrative and organization skills with a high attention to detail and accuracy. Must be able to set priorities, coordinate multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work with minimal supervision. Must possess a high degree of integrity. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills; excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to present compliance related information to various constituents. Must be able to work within a team oriented setting. Must have the ability to travel and work occasional evenings and weekends.
 
Post-graduate degree preferred. Demonstrated experience in a compliance department at either the NCAA Division I FBS level or NCAA national office; previous supervisory experience; proven experience in working with high profile intercollegiate sports programs preferred. Comprehensive knowledge of NCAA rules, regulations, processes, interpretations, waivers and governance structure preferred. Knowledge of NCAA technological processes such as CA and LSDBi, previous experience with Front Rush and Teamworks.
