COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The No. 6 Maryland men's basketball team looks to jump out to a 4-0 record as it hosts Fairfield in College Park Tuesday night at 8:30 pm. The game will be broadcast live on BTN. The Terps have started the season 3-0 five straight years dating back to 2014-15.

STORYLINES
• The No. 6 Maryland men's basketball team looks to jump out to a 4-0 record for the sixth straight season as it hosts Fairfield in College Park Saturday at noon. The matchup is part of the Orlando Invitational, though the result will not affect the bracketing.

• Maryland and Fairfield have met just once previously, with the Terps earning a 71-42 victory Nov. 17, 2009 in College Park. Eric Hayes led the way with 14 points, while Landon Milbourne chipped in 10 points and eight rebounds to defeat former head coach Ed Cooley's squad.

• The Terrapins are off to a 3-0 start after a dominant 80-50 victory over Oakland Saturday in which it forced 19 turnovers with stifling defense. Thirteen different players scored for Maryland in the win, led by junior Darryl Morsell's 14 points and seven rebounds. Senior Anthony Cowan Jr. posted 11 points, seven assists and six rebounds.

• Maryland is currently the only team in the Big Ten Conference with five players averaging double-figures in points, displaying its balance and depth. The five are: Jalen Smith (14.3/g), Anthony Cowan Jr. (12.3/g), Darryl Morsell (11.0/g), Aaron Wiggins (10.7/g) and Eric Ayala (10.3/g).

• Maryland is led on the defensive end by sophomores Jalen Smith and Aaron Wiggins. Wiggins has recorded three steals in every game this season, and currently ranks second in the Big Ten with 3.0 steals/g. Wiggins is the first Maryland player with at least three steals in three straight games since D.J. Strawberry in 2004. Smith, meanwhile, has eight blocks on the season and ranks 33rd nationally with 2.67 blocks/g.

• Maryland is 43-4 in non-conference home games at the XFINITY Center in the past 5+ seasons. The Terps are 33-6 overall at home over the last 2+ seasons.

• Senior Anthony Cowan Jr. current has 1,412 career points needs just three more to pass James Gist (2004-2008) and move into the Maryland top-20. Cowan is one of three players in program history with 1,400 points and 450 rebounds (Greivis Vasquez, John Lucas).
