COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- Each week during the 2019-20 season a Maryland student-athlete, who has shown excellence on and off the playing field, will be selected as the Solomon Eye Associates Terp of the Week. This week's Solomon Eye Associates Terp of the Week is senior Brittany Lang of cross country.
Senior Brittany Lang led the Terps at the 2019 B1G Cross Country Championships Sunday morning at the Ohio State University Golf Club Course as the first Terp to cross the line in 21:14.5. Lang paced her way through the 6K course, earning a 38th place finish in a field of 123 runners. This marked the senior's best placement at a conference championship after she improved 40 spots from last years competition. She completed the first 1K in 45th place, and slowed her pace for the 2K mark, where she checked in at 66th. She used this momentum to build her speed back up for the remaining 4K, pushing past the pack and making a big jump of 28 places to earn her 38th place finish. Lang has been a consistent top finisher for the Terps throughout the 2019 season. She has been the first Terp to cross the line in the last 3 meets, and set a personal best in the 6K in the beginning of October at Lehigh.
