COLLEGE PARK, Md.  – Eleven student-athletes on the Maryland field hockey team were named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association's National Academic Squad Monday.
Hannah Bond, Brooke DeBerdine, Riley Donnelly, Bibi Donraadt, Julie Duncan, Logan Edmondson, Noelle Frost, Kelee Lepage, Nike Lorenz, Hannah Menge and Emily Thomas were named to the National Academic Squad after earning a GPA of 3.30 through the fall 2018 semester.
Duncan was named to the National Academic Squad in all four years of her career. This is the third straight honor for Edmondson, Frost, Lepage and Thomas and second for Bond, DeBerdine and Menge.
As a team, the Terrapins were named a National Academic Squad by the NFHCA earlier this month. They posted a GPA above 3.0 to earn the honor.
Maryland went 22-3 on the year and picked up 16 wins over ranked teams, eight over top 10 teams. The Terrapins beat No. 17 Albany in the NCAA First Round, then No. 5 Connecticut in overtime to advance to the Final Four. The Terps then beat No. 3 Princeton, 1-0, to advance to the NCAA Championship game.
