HEMPSTEAD, NY. -- Sophomore
Grace Griffin tallied a career-best six points (five goals, one assist) to lead the No. 2 Maryland women's lacrosse team (5-0) to a 17-9 win at Hofstra on Saturday afternoon.
Griffin's five goals led a 17 score effort, where Maryland shot over 50 percent. Graduate student
Erica Evans had four points for the second consecutive game by way of three goals and one assist. Evans is now three goals away from 200 for her career. Senior

Catie May all had three points (two goals, one assist) in the effort as well.
Maryland won the draw effort, 17-10, behind seven from junior
Lizzie Colson and six from
Kali Hartshorn. Senior

Maddie McSally split time in goal, combining for 12 saves with six apiece. Senior
Jen Giles notched two groundballs and two caused turnovers in the effort.
Evans opened the scoring in the first half, juking out the defender to find net. With the score tied 3-3, Maryland rattled out seven straight goals from six different players with B. Griffin scoring two to get the Terps out to an 11-4 halftime lead.
In the second half, G. Griffin got her fourth and fifth goals of the day while McSally notched her first career save in goal and tallied six in the half. Junior
Nikki Sliwak closed out the scoring with her first goal of the year.
Maryland, now 5-0 on the season will play its third top-five opponent of the season next weekend, as the Terps host No. 4 Syracuse at Capital One Field at Maryland Stadium on March 9 at noon.
