COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Just a day after a one-run heartbreaking loss under the lights to Big Ten juggernaut Minnesota, the Terps weren't able to keep the second leg of the three-game series competitive, losing 19-5 in five innings.
JoJo McRae showcased her speed, scoring the first run of the game for the Terps after she took off and stole second, then didn't let off the gas following the throw which sailed into center field, rounding the bases and beating the throw to home plate.
Anna Kufta hit her team-leading fourth home run of the season, a two-run jack in the third inning which made it 10-3.
Bailey Boyd hit a two-RBI double in the fifth inning to make it 19-5, but the Terps would fall victim to the mercy rule as Taylor Wilson struck out with two runners on for the last out of the fifth.
Kufta, Boyd, and Gracie Voulgaris notched multi-hit games. Kufta is one hit away from 100 in her career.
Maryland plays the last game of the three-game series vs. Minnesota Sunday at 1 p.m.
