HARRISONBURG, Va. -- Led by six points apiece from senior Jen Giles (four goals, two assists) and junior Kali Hartshorn (three goals, three assists), the No. 2 Maryland women's lacrosse team (10-0, 2-0 B1G) trounced No. 7 James Madison 18-5 on Sunday afternoon.

"Great day for us today," said head coach Cathy Reese. "Got a lot of contributions from everywhere, with nine of our girls scoring goals and holding James Madison to just five goals. They're a great team, so just another really good win for our group."

Maryland got contributions from lots of pieces in the win, senior Meghan Siverson had a season-best four points with two goals and two assists and sophomore Grace Griffin had her second straight game with three goals, while also tallying three groundballs. Junior Lizzie Colson also filled up the stat-sheet, leading the Terps with eight draw controls, tying a career-best with four groundballs and causing two turnovers. Senior Julia Braig also caused two Duke turnovers.

Defensively, senior Megan Taylor was fantastic in goal yet again, saving eight shots and only giving up five goals, a .615 save percentage. Taylor leads the country, now with a .585 save percentage on the season. In the second half, Taylor only allowed one goal and notched five saves, an. 833 clip. 

The Terps held James Madison to a season-low five goals on just a .238 shooting percentage. Maryland won the battle in the circle, 15-10, with Colson notching eight and Hartshorn tallying seven. 

Maryland scored three goals in the first seven minutes in the game, by way of graduate student Erica Evans, G. Griffin and Giles. Hartshorn assisted on two of them and had a career-best three assists in the game to go with her three goals. Maryland led 9-4 at halftime. 

In the second half, after being held scoreless for the first 12 minutes of the half, Maryland ran away with it, ending the game on a 9-1 run. Hartshorn got all of her three goals on that run, while Giles tallied two of her four and junior Hannah Warther, sophomore Kylie Davis and freshman Julia Hoffman all posted one. Freshman Hannah Glaros also posted her first career assist in the contest. 

The Terps now stand at 10-0 on the season, today notching their fifth top-10 win of the year. Maryland will face another top-10 team on Wednesday, hosting No. 9 Princeton at 7:00 p.m. on FS1.
