COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- Each week during the 2018-19 season a Maryland student-athlete, who has shown excellence on and off the playing field, will be selected as the Solomon Eye Associates Terp of the Week. This week's Solomon Eye Associates Terp of the Week is Greg Thompson of the track & field team.

The London, England native continued to blow away the field and surpass his own school record (previously 61.39m set at the UNF Spring Break Invitational) in the men's discus throw. Thompson's 65.56m mark is currently the best mark in the Big Ten and ranks first in the in the NCAA, and Thompson has won five of seven discus events he has competed in this outdoor season.

Also at the Penn Relays, Xahria Santiago, Gwendolyn Zeckowski and Kathryn Gearhart set personal bests, while the 4x400 meter relay squad broke their own school record and finished second with a 3:06.51.

The track & field squads return to the track Friday afternoon when Maryland hosts the Kehoe Twilight Meet.
