Assist the head coach with the organization, development, and implementation of a competitive NCAA Division I Track & Field program that competes at the highest level. This position will have primary coaching responsibilities in the jumping or distance events. Applicants must have NCAA Division I coaching experience in one of these event groups. Additional responsibilities include daily operations, recruiting, fundraising, community service, alumni outreach, and additional tasks as assigned by the head coach. The Assistant Coach will be expected to develop and maintain effective interaction with students, colleagues, university staff, alumni, and the general public. The Assistant Coach will possess a strong knowledge of and commitment to compliance with all NCAA, Big Ten Conference, and University rules and regulations as well as dedication to the full academic development of student athletes.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required along with Level I Track & Field certification. Direct coaching experience in the jumps or distance events working within a collegiate program is required. Individual must have strong communication skills and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment. Candidates must demonstrate knowledge of and adherence to NCAA and Big Ten Conference rules as well as University policies.
Demonstrated success working with a NCAA Division I collegiate program in the jumping or distance events preferred.
