COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- The Maryland field hockey squad will play in two exhibitions this weekend and host a family social to kick off events for the 2019 season.

Friday evening, the Terrapins will take on local club team, the DC Dragons, at 6 p.m. Friday at the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex. 

On Sunday, the Terps will play in their annual Red/White Scrimmage at 11 a.m., followed by a family social. 

Both events are free and open to fans. 

Maryland will officially open the 2019 season with a 6 p.m. game vs. Richmond on Friday, Aug. 30 at the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex. Admission for the Terps-Spiders matchup is free as well. The lots around the Complex will open at 4 p.m. Fans planning to arrive before 4 p.m. are encouraged to park in the metered XFINITY Visitors Lot across the street from the Complex.
