Maryland Beats Pitt in Final Day of the Big Ten/ ACC Challenge, 10-9

CLEMSON, S.C. -- Taylor Okada went 4-for-5 with three RBIs and Trinity Schlotterbeck pitched three scoreless innings as the Maryland Softball team captured a 10-9 come-from-behind win on the final day of the Big Ten/ACC Challenge Sunday. It was Schlotterbeck's first win of the season in the circle.

Maryland came out the gates rolling, jumping out to a 4-1 lead. Taylor Liguori got it started by scoring Okada on a single through the left side, before Kufta added a run on a double-steal. Okada then added to the lead in the second inning when she knocked in JoJo McRae. Regan Kerr scored the fourth run on a passed ball.

Pitt battled back, however, and took a 6-4 lead in the bottom of the second.

With the Terps trailing 9-6 heading into the sixth inning, Gracie Voulgaris cut the deficit to one on a single to right field that brought Taylor Liguori and Anna Kufta in for two runs.

Voulgaris then scored on a throwing error by Pitt to first base, tying the game 9-9.

Jojo McRae's bolt to home plate on a wild pitch that gave the Terps the one-run advantage in the top of the seventh inning.

Schlotterbeck then shut the door on Pitt for the remainder of the game.

Taylor Okada's 3 RBIs were a season-high.

Kufta went 2-for-4 at the plate, scoring two runs, while Taylor Liguori went 2-for-5, scoring one run and adding a RBI.

McRae led the way with three runs, while five others scored one apiece.

The Terps gear up next weekend to travel to Statesboro, Ga., for the Eagle Round Robin Feb. 21-23, where they will face Furman, Monmouth, Evansville and Georgia Southern
