#1: 2002 Men's Basketball wins NCAA Championship
Hall of Fame coach Gary Williams’ Terps reached college basketball’s pinnacle when they defeated Indiana, 64-52, on April 1, 2002, to claim Maryland’s first national championship. 

Final Four Most Valuable Player Juan Dixon hurled the ball to the Georgia Dome roof as legendary broadcaster, Johnny Holliday, proclaimed, “The kids have done it!”
Julie Fricke 2011 NCAA Qualifier
#16: 2011 Women's Cross Country competes at NCAA Championships
Julie Fricke qualified for the 2011 NCAA Cross Country Championships, making her the first Terp to qualify for the national championship in 23 years, with the last being Rosalind Taylor in 1988. 

Fricke placed 13th at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional meet and was one of four individuals who were invited to nationals by the NCAA and was not on an advancing team. She also was the first Terp to earn All-Atlantic Coast Conference honors since Kerrie Bowes in 1995.

2017-18 Football beats Texas in back-to-back seasons
#8: 2017-18 Football beats Texas in back-to-back seasons
In back-to-back years to start the 2017 and 2018 seasons, Maryland upset ranked Texas teams in exciting fashion. The Terps topped the No. 23 Longhorns 51-41 in Austin to begin the 2017 campaign, racking up 263 yards on the ground and building a 27-7 second quarter cushion before securing the win with two fourth-quarter touchdowns.

In 2018, Maryland beat No. 23 Texas at FedEx Field in Maryland with an emotionally charged 34-29 upset where the Terps forced three turnovers in the final 6:09 and scored the game's final 10 points to secure the top-25 win.
2005 Field Hockey wins NCAA Championship
#9: 2005 Field Hockey wins NCAA Championship
Field hockey won its fourth National Championship and started a quite a win streak with its 2005 NCAA title. 

The Terrapins beat Duke, 1-0, to win their first of five titles in seven years. Senior Jackie Ciconte scored the game’s only goal less than 10 minutes into the championship match.

2010 Men's Basketball beats Duke to win ACC regular season title
#4: 2010 Men's Basketball wins ACC regular season title 
Senior Greivis Vasquez hit a clutch basket with 37 seconds left to lift Maryland to a share of the ACC title in a 79-72 victory over Duke. 

Maryland fans stormed the court in jubilation as they celebrated one of Maryland’s signature wins over the Blue Devils.
2014 Football beats Penn State on last-second kick by Brad Craddock
#13: 2014 Football beats Penn State on late kick
Brad Craddock made a 43-yard field goal with 51 seconds left to give Maryland a 20-19 come-from-behind victory over Penn State at Beaver Stadium on November 1, 2014. 

The win marked Maryland’s first ever in Happy Valley. The Terps came back from 16-7 down in the third quarter to beat the Nittany Lions for the first time since 1961 and become bowl eligible.

2004 Men's Basketball wins ACC Tournament
#5: 2004 Men's Basketball wins ACC Tournament
ACC Tournament MVP John Gilchrist was sensational over the course of three upset victories to lead the 6th-seeded Terps on an improbable run to the conference crown. 

Maryland defeated #3 Wake Forest, #2 NC State and #1 Duke en route to the title, as Gilchrist averaged 24.0 points and 6.3 points.
2011 Men's Lacrosse advances to NCAA Final Four by knocking off #1 seed Syracuse in OT
#12: 2011 Men's Lacrosse advances to NCAA Final Four
The emotional ride of the 2011 Maryland men's lacrosse team continued into the NCAA Final Four when Grant Catalino scored the game-winning goal with 32 seconds left in the first overtime to give the unseeded Terrapins a 6-5 win over No. 1- seeded Syracuse at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass.

The victory propelled Maryland into the Final Four for the first time since 2006 and marked the first Final Four appearance for the Terrapins under head coach John Tillman.

The 2011 Terrapins were known for their "Forever Young" mantra and purple gear honoring senior Ryan Young's mother, Maria, who passed away on April 17, 2011 after a three-year battle with pancreatic cancer. Young led all scorers in the win over Syracuse with three assists.
