BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Aaron Wiggins scored a career-high 22 points, but a second-half surge from Indiana (7-5, 2-2 B1G) pushed the hosts to a 63-55 win over Maryland (6-5, 1-3 B1G) Monday night.
Trace Jackson-Davis led the way for the Hoosiers with 22 points and 15 rebounds, while Aljami Durham and Race Thompson both added 13. Â
Hakim Hart (10) finished in double-figures for the Terrapins, while Donta Scott added seven points and matched his career-high with 12 rebounds.
Maryland led by as many as 10 at the 15:14 mark of the second half, before Indiana began chipping away. Jackson-Davis scored 17 of his 22 in the half, and the Hoosiers retook the lead for good at the 10:04 mark. Â Â
Maryland's defense was stifling in the first half, allowing the Hoosiers to shoot just 30% from the field and 0-9 from three.
A 9-0 run in the middle of the first half pushed Maryland's lead to as much as 10 by the 10:54 mark. Indiana was able to close the gap and tie the game back up at 18, before the Terps used a pair of three pointers from Jairus Hamilton and Wiggins to carry a 27-21 edge into the break.
Maryland returns to action Thursday to host No. 5 Iowa at XFINITYÂ Center. Tipoff is slated for 7:00 p.m. The game will be broadcasted live on ESPN2 and the Maryland Sports Radio Network. Â
