PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Maryland softball took its series against Rutgers with a third victory in a row, securing a 4-1 win over the Scarlet Knights on Sunday.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• After a walk from Michaela Jones and Micaela Abbatine, a bunt single from Regan Kerr loaded the bases for the Terps 
  • JoJo McRae took things into her own hands, singling to left field but advancing to third on a throwing error to bring all three runners home 
  • Jaeda McFarland then doubled to left center bringing McRae all the way back around and putting Maryland up over Rutgers 4-0 
• Rutgers scored late in the last frame, putting up one run on three hits, but it wasn't enough for a comeback against Maryalnd 
• Senior pitcher Jennifer Brann recorded seven strikeouts against the Knights; notching three in a row in the bottom of the third
  • The Terp kept Rutgers to zero hits through four and-a-half innings
• Trinity Schlotterbeck stepped in for Brann, immediately sending the Knights' next two batters back to the dugout with a strikeout and a ground ball 
  • Schlotterbeck moved to first base in the last two frames, making two impressive catches in each to add to her six putouts on the day in a short appearance
