Donraadt, Rose Power No.2 Maryland to Double Overtime Win Over No.13 UConn

Storrs, CT -- The Terps capped off their regular season with a thrilling double overtime victory in Storrs, CT as Bibi Donraadt's goal powered No. 2 Maryland (16-2, 7-1) over No. 13 UConn (11-6, 5-2).

Maryland battled back in what became a tough defensive contest for the Terps. After giving up the early advantage, Hope Rose netted her second goal in the last two games to even the score early in the third quarter. Despite allowing 18 shots, the Terps were able to out pace the Huskies in shots on goal 7-6.

The Terps clinched the victory in their 2022 regular season final as Hope Rose moved around the keeper and layed a well-executed pass to Bibi Donraadt for the golden goal winner.

  • The Terps equalized early in the third quarter, as Hope Rose buried Maryland's third penalty corner of the period past Sprecher and into the bottom left corner.
  • Maryland could not put away a goal in the fourth quarter, as both teams battled defensively, each only recording a single shot in the period.
  • Neither team could net the game winner in the first overtime period, as both Christina Calandra and Sprecher came up with big plays to keep the score level at 1-1.
