Trio Of Terps Notch 20-Plus Points, No. 23 Maryland Rolls Past Coppin State 95-79

COLLEGE PARK, MD -- Julian Reese, Hakim Hart and Jahmir Young all scored at least 20 points, the first time Maryland has had a trio of 20-plus scorers in the same game in over 20 years, as the No. 23 Terps cruised to a 95-79 win over Coppin State.

Reese is now shooting an outstanding 80 percent (37–of-46) from the floor this season. He grabbed 10 rebounds for his second double-double of the season and his career.

Not to be outdone, Hart and Young each added 22 and 21, respectively. It marked the first time three players have scored at least 20 points in the same game since Juan Dixon (23), Chris Wilcox (21) and Lonny Baxter (20) did it against Virginia on March 3, 2002 in the last ever game at Cole Field House.

Playing against a Coppin State team coached by Juan Dixon, Maryland's all-time leading scorer and hero of the 2002 National Champion team, the Terps outscored the Eagles by 14 in the final 8:47 of the first half to take command of the game.

The Terps dominated inside all day, besting Coppin State 54-34 in paint points.

Maryland is now a perfect 6-0 for the fifth time in the last nine years. Coppin State dropped to 3-5 overall.

Willard's Take

"These guys play unselfishly. They like to pass the basketball. I think as they're getting more used to playing with each other, they're understanding when to get certain guys shots, when to get guys the basketball. We're still a major work in progress, but I think from the standpoint of those first five, I think they have a really good feel for what everyone can do on the court."
