COLLEGE PARK, MD - Each week during the 2021-22 season a Maryland student-athlete, who has shown excellence on and off the playing field, will be selected as the Solomon Eye Terp of the Week. This week's Solomon Eye Terp of the Week is sophomore Angel Reese of the women's basketball team.
Sophomore Angel Reese continued her dominance, leading the 11th-ranked Terrapins (21-7) in scoring and rebounding in a 67-64 win over No. 10 Indiana Friday. With the win, the Terps clinched a double-bye in the upcoming Big Ten Tournament and picked up their third win over a ranked team in 2 weeks.
Reese scored a game-high 20 points and tied her career-high 16 rebounds for her 16th double-double of the season, which leads the Big Ten. She added seven of her points and grabbed 10 of her boards in the second half as the Terrapins fought to seal the win. In the third quarter, she collided with a Hoosier and needed to leave the game with a nose injury. She returned just minutes later. She grabbed 6 clutch rebounds in the final period, four defensive, and notched a steal.
Reese and the Terrapins return to action Friday at approximately 2 p.m. ET in the Big Ten Tournament Quarterfinals in Indianapolis. Friday's game will be televised on the Big Ten Network.
