Bobby Zmarzlak crushed a walk-off three-run home run in the bottom of the ninth to lift No. 24 Maryland to an 8-6 win on Friday night at Bob 'Turtle' Smith Stadium. It marked the second consecutive game that Maryland hit a game-winning home run in its last at-bat.
Chris Alleyne smacked a solo homer in the top of the ninth inning in the Terps' last game at James Madison on Thursday to give Maryland an 8-7 win.
The Terps moved to 27-7 and 5-2 in the Big Ten.
After seeing his 32-game on-base streak end in the Terps' last game against James Madison,
Nick Lorusso went 3-for-4 in the game.
Kevin Keister went 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI.
Maxwell Costes, Zmarzlak and
Ian Petrutz drove in the Terps' other runs.
David Falco Jr., picked up his second win in as many games as he three 1.1 innings of hitless and scorless ball to move to 2-0 on the season.
Ohio State (11-19, 2-6 Big Ten) was led by Kade Kern, who went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and Blayne Robinson, who went 3-for-5 with an RBI.
