Hardshells in the PLL - June 22

COLLEGE PARK, MD - Three weeks into the 2022 Premier Lacrosse League season, it's time to check-in on our professional Terps. With more alumni competing at the top level than any other program, the Terps have plenty going on in the PLL.

The top of the standings feature two Terp-dominated teams at 3-0: Chrome LC and Whipsnakes LC. The Chrome features 2022 Tewaaraton Award winner Logan Wisnauskas, 2017 Champion Colin Heacock, 2021 Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year Nick Grill, and assistant coach Jesse Bernhardt.

Affectionately known as the "WhipTerps," the Whipsnakes are statistically led by Jay Carlson, Michael Ehrhardt, and Kyle Bernlohr. Their roster also features Matt Rambo, Mike Chanenchuk, Jake Bernhardt, among others.

Fans can vote for their favorite Terps to take place in July's PLL All-Star Weekend by clicking HERE.

Bubba Fairman made his professional debut on June 19, 2022. Showing off his versatility, Fairman brought the ball into the offensive zone and created the offense for his first assist. All across the field, he had five groundballs to go alongside his offensive output.

Chrome

In only his second game as a pro, Logan Wisnauskas lit up the Redwoods for five goals, including four in the second half. "Groot" then followed that up with four goals, plus an assist, against the Waterdogs. He's tied for second in the league with nine goals and his shooting percentage is third at 45 percent. He leads all rookies in points, goals, shots, shots on goal, and shooting percentage.

Helping Wisnauskas on offense, Heacock has a pair of goals this season plus two groundballs.

Defensively, the Chrome are led by Bernhardt and Grill. Both have caused three turnovers while Grill has four GB compared to Bernhardt's three.

Waterdogs

Seeing action at SSDM, Jake Higgins has found his place on the Waterdogs. With action in the team's two most recent games, Higgins has a GB in each.

Whipsnakes

Tied atop the league standings, the Whipsnakes an incredible number of Terps. On attack, Jay Carlson has nine points (6G, 3A) while Matt Rambo has seven points (4G, 3A). In the midfield, Mike Chanenchuk has eight points, including the game-winner on opening weekend.
