No. 3 Terps Roll Past New Hampshire 6-1, Finish 2-0 In Terrapin Invitational

COLLEGE PARK, MD -- Maryland (6-0) got goals from five different players en route to a dominant 6-1 victory over New Hampshire (3-3) to close out the Terrapin Invitational. 

The Terps were on the attack from the jump and out-shot the Wildcats 24-4. 

For the sixth time in a row, The Terps went undefeated in the Terrapin Invitational. Maryland's 6-0 start to the season is its best since 2018. 

Breaking Down The Action
  • Just two minutes into the game, Hope Rose found the back of the net off a penalty corner for her team-high fifth goal of the season. 
  • The Wildcats drew even late in the first quarter. 
  • The Terps finished the first half with 13 shots, 11 of which were on goal, but the teams were still deadlocked at one heading into the locker room. 
  • Bibi Donraadt put Maryland ahead for good with a quick second half goal off a deflection. Leah Crouse made the assist on the play. 
  • Belle Bressler added to Maryland's lead with her first goal of the season. 
  • Seconds into the fourth quarter, Danielle Van Rootselaar pushed Maryland's lead to three. 
  • Emma DeBerdine added another goal for the Terps before Rose pushed across her second of the day for Maryland's final score.

  • Paige Kieft made her first career start in goal. She recorded two saves. 
  • Bressler scored her first goal of the season, the third of the senior's career.

  • 1: The number of combined goals Maryland has allowed in quarters two through four through six games this year. 
  • 4: The Wildcats only managed four shots thanks to an aggressive Terp defense. 
  • 11: The number of corners the Terps drew, a season-high. 
  • 18: The Terps also put a season-high 18 shots on goal. Only six of the day's shots were not on goal. 
  • 24: The number of shots the Terps put up to New Hampshire's four.
