WILMINGTON, NC -- The Maryland women's golf team wrapped up its fall event slate at the Landfall Tradition this weekend at the Country Club of Landfall in Wilmington, N.C. The Terrapins tied for 11th out of 18 teams competing.
Sophomore
Nicha Kanpai and junior
Panassaya Somchit led the way for Maryland with 54-hole scores of 217, which were +1. They tied for 38th. Kanpai shot a 77 in the first round Friday, then shot back-to-back scores of 70 in the second and third rounds. Somchit shot a 78 Friday, then scored a 70 Saturday and a 69 Sunday.
Graduate
Virginia Bossi earned a score of 219 (77-71-71), which was +3. Senior
Karla Elena Vázquez Setzer earned a score of 224 (75-77-72). Fifth-year
Maria Vittoria Corbi tallied a score of 227 (76-76-75).
As a team, Maryland finished with a total score of 874 (305-287-282), which was +10. The No. 33-ranked Terrapins tied with No. 30 SMU, then beat No. 13 Purdue, Nebraska and Penn State.
