Maryland Secures 3-2 Senior Day Win Over Wisconsin

COLLEGE PARK, MD – Maryland (32-16, 8-11 B1G) salvaged a game from Saturday's doubleheader against Wisconsin (24-19, 9-10 B1G) with a 3-2 win against the Badgers. The win was Maryland's 32nd of the season, the most wins in a single season for the Terps since they won 34 games in 2012.

Senior day for Maryland took place after the conclusion of the Terps' doubleheader finale. Mackense Greico, Campbell Kline, Taylor Liguori, Trinity Schlotterbeck and Courtney Wyche were honored.

Kline drove in the first run of the game, giving Maryland a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning, scoring Michaela Jones. It was the first run scored of the afternoon for the Terps after being blanked in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader.

Wyche took the mound as the starter in the doubleheader finale for Maryland and did well to contain the Wisconsin offense much like Schlotterbeck did in the first game on Saturday. She threw a complete game, striking out seven over seven innings, allowing four hits and two earned runs in the process. It's her ninth complete game of the season and 31st of her career.

It was a senior-led performance for the Terps as Greico tied things up in the bottom of the fourth with a solo home run, her third homer of the year, making it a 2-2 game. It's her first homer of the season since hitting two against East Carolina on March 5.

Liguori drove home the go-ahead run with an RBI groundout in the fourth as the Terps went up, 4-3. All three runs in Saturday evening's win were driven in by seniors.
