Assistant Coach-Track & Field

The Assistant Coach, Track & Field, will assist the head coach with the organization, development, and implementation of a competitive NCAA Division I Track & Field; Field program that competes at the highest level. This position will have primary coaching responsibilities in the multi events while also supporting in other event areas as needed. Applicants must have NCAA Division I coaching experience in the multi event areas. Expertise in other event areas is valued. Additional responsibilities include daily operations, recruiting, fundraising, community service, alumni outreach, and additional related tasks as assigned by the head coach.

The Assistant Coach will be expected to develop and maintain effective interaction with students, colleagues, university staff, alumni, and the general public. Applicants should demonstrate a commitment to maintaining a positive team culture. The Assistant Coach will possess a strong knowledge of and commitment to compliance with all NCAA, Big Ten Conference, and University rules and regulations as well as dedication to the full academic development of student athletes.

Education:  Bachelor's degree required.

Experience:  Direct coaching experience working within a collegiate program is required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Individuals must have strong communication skills and Demonstrated success working with an NCAA Division I collegiate program in the multi-events.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Preferences:
  • NCAA Division I experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and adherence to NCAA and Big Ten Conference rules and University policies.
Required Certifications:  Level I Track & Field certification.
