Game Recap: Field Hockey |

No. 6 Maryland Falls To No. 13 Princeton, 2-1

PRINCETON, NJ – No. 6 Maryland lost to No. 13 Princeton, 2-1, on Friday at Bedford Field. The Terps moved to 10-5 on the season.

Despite a Hope Rose equalizer after Princeton took a 1-0 lead, the Tigers scored on a penalty strike late in the third quarter to put the game just out of reach for the Terps offense.

Rose's third-quarter score was her team-leading eighth goal of the season. Emma DeBerdine and Fleur Knopert assisted the goal. DeBerdine leads the Terps with five assists in 2024.

Beth Yeager scored both of Princeton's goals in the contest. Yeager leads the Ivy League in goals and assists. She played alongside DeBerdine on the United States women's national field hockey team at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

No. 13 Princeton (10-4) went into the game already having clinched an Ivy League tournament berth.
