COLLEGE PARK, MD- The No. 58 Maryland Terrapins defeated Minnesota 5-2 at the JTCC on Friday.
The match started outside but was moved indoors due to inclement weather.
Minnesota opened the match taking the No. 3 doubles match 6-1. The Terps responded with #61
Minorka Miranda and
Maria Budin winning the No. 1 doubles match 6-4.
With the doubles point on the line,
Selma Cadar and
Kallista Liu won the No. 2 doubles match 6-3 to clinch the doubles point a 1-0 lead for Maryland.
Maria Budin took the first singles point for the Terps, winning the No. 4 singles match 6-1, 6-2.
Kallista Liu made it 3-0 Maryland by winning the No. 3 singles match 6-1, 6-2.
Diya Challa clinched the match victory for the Terrapins, winning the No. 5 singles match 6-0, 6-3.
Minnesota scored their first point of the match with Anali Kocevar defeating
Minorka Miranda in the No. 2 singles match 6-3, 6-2 to make it 4-1.
Selma Cadar responded winning the No.1 singles match 6-3, 6-3 to push Maryland ahead 5-1.
Minnesota closed out the match taking the No. 6 singles match.
